About Dr Julien Savoie, Psychologist

A little about my credentials
That's me, Julien Savoie, Clinical Psychologist since 2020. I am licensed under the College of Psychologist of New-Brunswick (CPNB) and the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ). I have a Doctors degree in Clinical Psychology (D.Psy.) obtained at Laval University.
I have practiced in different contexts as a student and as a solo practitioner, from Hospital settings, Public settings and Private settings. I have been practicing in the Private sector since 2022, in Moncton. I have been trained in evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I am currently being trained in IMAGO relationship therapy. Though I have worked with children during my internship, I currently only practice with young adults, adults and older adults.
My philosophy to psychotherapy
Life doesn’t come with a guidebook. Each of us is navigating it for the first time, shaped by our bodies, our minds, our relationships, our experiences and context. This understanding guides my work with humility, openness, and respect for the complexity of being human.

Emotional pain and psychological distress are part of the human experience. They arise not only from how we cope with life, but also from the realities we face: unmet needs, losses, unfulfilled expectations, or circumstances that challenge what we value, or even who we think we are. These experiences are meaningful signals — reflections of our desires, attachments, and values — and do not indicate weakness or failure. Understanding them can help us relate to ourselves with more compassion, clarity, and flexibility, even when life does not go as we hope. While we are wired to avoid discomfort, trying to push away difficult thoughts or feelings can sometimes leave us feeling more stuck.

Therapy offers a space to slow down and look with curiosity and compassion at the patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that shape how you experience yourself and the world. The goal is not to change who you are, but to change how you relate to yourself and your experiences. Through this process, it becomes possible to reduce suffering, build flexibility, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with what matters to you.
My role is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself and move forward at a pace that feels right for you

My values as a Psychologist
Authenticity
I believe meaningful therapy begins with honesty and genuineness — showing up as real people, not roles or labels.
Collaboration
Therapy is a shared process. We work together to understand your experiences and move toward goals that matter to you.
Respect
Your experiences, values, and boundaries are honoured. You are the expert in your own life.
Curiosity
I approach each person’s story with openness and interest, seeking understanding rather than judgment.
Creativity
There is no single path to growth. I adapt my approach to fit your needs, strengths, and ways of making sense of the world.
Ethics
My work is guided by professional standards, integrity, and a strong commitment to your well-being and autonomy.
Openness
I value openness to complexity, uncertainty, and feedback, recognizing that growth often emerges through exploration.
Passion
I value supporting people in discovering what energizes them and giving themselves permission to engage fully with what matters to them.
